- Visit to the Butterfly Park

Children were enthusiastic to visit the butterfly park and the zoo. Entering into the park the children could feel the natural change in temperature and the freshness of the greenery.
Children were amused to see the vibrant colours of the winged friends. As they were aware of the cycle of metamorphosis they were diligently following the instructions of the mentor during the tour.
The fish pond in the park was mesmerizing. The bridge on the water body was an exciting experience , as they could feel the water and see the fishes very closely. It was time to rest and have lunch now! A healthy diet of fresh salad and fruits were available along with rotis, cooked vegetable and varieties of idlis.
After lunch and free time to play, the children visited the zoo. It was a co incidence that there was an inauguration of a new enclosure for tigers and there was a baby hippopotamus also. Children spent some time watching various animals, birds, snakes and squirrels
- Diwali Celebrations at Adra Chennai

We celebrated Diwali along with our House of children with full of joy. The children painted the Diyas and decorated them with the Kundan stones. On the occasion we drew a big Rangoli in the campus and the children displayed their Diyas on it.
The mentors spoke about the festival in detail to the children and explained to them on how the day is spent with the family from early morning. It was nice to see the children in colourful dresses and smiling faces and we concluded the day by distributing sweets to each other.

- Adra Sports day

The children of Adra school Bangalore were greeted in the morning with a nice drizzle and a typical “August” weather. However it turned out to be quite a day with the sun showing up. We were all were so happy and confident that the Sports Day will go on, since so much of effort and team work had gone into making it happen.
The Adra Montessori house of children Staff team did the preparations for the day with the tracks being laid and the tents were put up for the children and the spectators. The little ones dressed up in white tees, black tracks and slip-ons came enthusiastically along with their parents. After the Welcome Speech our young friends – Shravya, Ruhi, Nithin, Adwaith, Neha, Paavni and Samikshaa sang the invocation song.
Various events were held keeping in mind the participating children’s age. All the children received the certificate of participation and the medal/cup. The event came to an end with the children breaking up for the snacks and drink.
Several parents had provided very encouraging feedback on the event and had wanted more events to be held in similar manner.
- Introduction to Music
- March 2014
Karen Dickinson, addressed the Adra Children & Parents and provided an overview of how she intends to introduce the various music concepts - such as pitch, rhythm, and so on.
The idea was for the children not to not just learn, but also be able to appreciate and enjoy music for its own beauty. In the subsequent classes for the children, singing and making simple music together will be introduced and also will include music created by different musical instruments.

The children had an opportunity to pet the animals and feed them. There were three different breeds of dogs for the children to play with on that day.
